Do you ever get that tingling feeling in your stomach – not in a good way? More like nerves. Maybe there’s some shallow breathing that comes along with it. Maybe there is some stomach upset as well.
These symptoms might be the sign of something in your life not being in alignment with who you truly are. One of the first steps to living a confident, fulfilling life is to know yourself. I’ll be talking more about ways to do that in future posts. In the meantime, here is a great post discussing it from our other Keeper of the Well, Jace Downey.
But one thing that can help right now, is to tune in to how you feel physically and emotionally when faced with one of the many decisions you have to make every day. These decisions can be anything from what to eat for lunch to which car to buy.
If you are not accustomed to tuning in like this to help inform your decisions, start with the small stuff – what to eat, whether to take a nap or not, which route to take to work, before moving on to the larger life-changing ones.
Get quiet, close your eyes and take a few deep breaths. Notice what you feel in your body when you think about each choice.
You might notice emotions coming up as well. A little fear about something new is OK, but if it is a really strong negative feeling that doesn’t have any excitement attached to it, the answer to that one is most likely NO.
I’d love to hear in the comments below if you’ve tried this approach and how it is working for you.
